Posted by Lisa Laree to Catching the Mosquito
Here we go again...
I could not imagine starting a third blog, but, well, sometimes needs arise. I have needed to link some creative ramblings in odd places and I didn't have a good place to host them. Linking a Google doc worked ...sort of...but Google is starting to complain about my storage space, so I'm going to do away with those Google docs and just link things here.
I'll talk a minute about the name, for the curious.
Years ago, when my kids were little, I remember feeling a need to write stuff. But, beyond occasional journal entries, I just didn't quite feel the inspiration I needed to get a full ...something...on paper. The analogy that occurred to me was that I had ideas buzzing about my brain, sorta like that mosquito in the bedroom after lights out. The whine of it is quite distracting, but if you turn on a light and try to find it...it's gone.
Then one day, as I was heading out the door with the kids to go...somewhere...I remember kinda complaining to God that I wanted to write but just couldn't pull the trigger. And I felt an answer in my spirit...When the time is right, I will give you what you need.
I don't know if that's now or not, lol, and I don't know if I have a writing anointing, but I do know that I need an outlet and I can't keep hijacking my other blogs for flights of fancy. So here we are. I tried several different names...Word Salad and Writing it Out were a couple...but, by and large, they all belonged to blogs that had been deleted and were therefore not available. One...and I don't remember which one... had an 'Adult Content' warning. Then I happened to remember my mosquito analogy and discovered no one had used that yet. Surprise, surprise.
Random poetry, short stories, fan fiction, who knows what will show up here. Or how often. But this is a place to share my sometimes (well, mostly) quirky writing.
I will probably repost some of the things that are already posted on the other blogs, just to get them all in the same space. And if a bit of imagination better suits the sewing blog (Sewrandom) or the faith blog (Beer Lahai Roi), it may still get posted there.
Creative writing needs an outlet...and, since I don't have any others open at the moment, this will do.
